Show Kaysville upends Central BOUNTIFUL League junior high boys' basketball competition competi-tion ended Thursday and Friday, and with it ended Central Davis' dreams of a perfect season. Central had amassed an unbelievable 10 game winning streak before finally falling to Kaysville 72-61. The Knights had also shared unbeaten bliss until losing to South Davis the week before. Both Central and Kaysville finish league play with impressive 10-1 records. South Davis finished its season with an 80-69 win over North Layton. The Spartans end regular season matchups with a second place 9-2 standing. N.L. dropped to 6-5. Centerville moved into third place extending its record to 8-3 with a 78-52 win over Bountiful Junior. Bountiful finishes the season at 4-7. Millcreek logged its second win of the season at the Farmington Huskies' expense, 75-62. Now 2-9, the Mustangs are tied with Sunset who lost to Mueller Park last week 5 1 -46. North Davis upended Syracuse 72-66 to finish 7-4 and 4-7, respectively. respec-tively. Tournament competition to decide county dominance begins tomorrow with all games beginning at 2:45 p.m. Bountiful hosts Mueller Park; North Davis hosts Farmington, and Sunset Junior will travel to Syracuse. Finally, North Layton will host Millcreek. Kaysville will take on the Mueller ParkBountiful winner. Centerville Center-ville will challenge the N.D.Farmington winner. Central faces off with the winner of the SunsetSyracuse battle, and South Davis hosts the winner of the MillcreekN.L. winner on Thursday at 2:45 p.m. Semifinal and final competition moves to Davis High Friday and Monday, respectively. |
