Show Police search for gas station armed robber CEDAR CITY - Police here are looking for a suspect in the Husky Pop Shop robbery of March 31. The individual, according ac-cording to police reports, entered the Husky station and ordered the sales clerk, Cindy Ely, to open the cash register and give him the money contained within. Ely shut the cash register, and asked the suspect if he was carrying a gun. He bluntly answered yes, and ordered her to reopen the register and hand wer the contents. It is jstimated that the subject sub-ject got away with 5262.02, according to police reports. The store clerk told x)lice that the suspect :ook the money and ran south on 1050 West. Young boys in the area it . the time of the robbery, rob-bery, reported to the x)lice that a 1973 Mercury Mer-cury was driving in a somewhat suspicious manner around the area. "The suspect vehicle was stopped by policemen, but the subject did not fit the description given by Ely," said Sharon Webb, Cedar City Police secretary and clerk. "The girl very clearly stated that the man had deep scratch marks on his hands, and the individual in-dividual stopped by policemen had no marks .on his hands," added Webb. Ely described the suspect to police as a white male, about 175 pounds, with light brown curly hair, and about six feet to six feet two in height. She also added that the suspect was wearing a tan shirt and Levis. Anyone with any information in-formation that may aid in the arrest of the suspect should contact the Cedar City Police. . ' |
