Show Parowan police chief named special event chairperson PAROWAN -Parowan Police Chief Wayne Townsend has been named as the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation special event chairperson by Dr. John Herbst, director of the Cystic Fibrosis care clinic at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. The Utah clinic is one of a network of 128 Cystic Fibrosis Foundation clinics providing care for children and young adults with cystic fibrosis. Chief Townsend will be conducting a Skate-a-thon to raise funds to support research and care for those afflicted with cystic fibrosis. The Skate-a-thon will le held May 8. Participants Par-ticipants can raise pledges from friends, relatives and businesses. All participants who collect more than $35 will be awarded a special "I Did It" T-shirt for their efforts on behalf of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Those who would like to volunteer or to find out how to take part in the Skate-a-thon should contact Townsend at the Police Department, 477-3383. 477-3383.
