Show Pothole contest continues CEDAR CITY - Residents of Iron County have only one more week to enter the Iron County Record Biggest Pothole Contest, according to Record Publisher Michael N. Stansfield. The deadline for the contest is 12 noon, April 16. The winner of the contest will receive a free front-end alignment, courtesy of Desert Pines Tire. The rules are as follows: 1. Only residents of Iron County are eligible. 2. The pothole must be on an oiled road within the limits of a city or town within Iron County. 3. The pothole must be entirely on the road. Those on the edge, which stretch out into the dirt, are not eligible. It must be entirely surrounded by oil. 4. The potholes will be judged by the Record staff and figured according to width and depth. The width, in inches, will be added to the depth, in inches, to arrive at the size of the entry. 5. The decision of the judges will be final. 6. No employees of the Record or members of their immediate families will be eligible for competition. Written entries must be submitted to the Record office, 59 N. 100 West, Cedar City, by 12 noon on April 16. They must include the precise location of the pothole and the name, address and telephone number of the contestant. |
