Show On drug charges Police arrest six PAROWAN A tip from an informant and a weekend investigation led to the arrest of three juveniles and three adults in Parowan and Brian Head last week on drug charges. Names have not been released because of an ongoing investigation and the hope of more arrests this week, said Parowan Police Chief Wayne Townsend. According to Town-send, Town-send, the six were arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and paraphernalia, after an investigation by his office, of-fice, in cooperation with the Parowan High School principal and faculty and Iron County Sheriff Deputy Chuck Mitchell. There had been narcotics nar-cotics activity going on in and around the high school for about a week before the arrests, said Townsend. Two juveniles and one adult were arrested as they were getting on a school bus in front of PHS to go skhng at Brian Head as part of a school field trip. The three were allegedly in possession of about a dozen marijuana cigarettes, some pipes and a cigarette roller, said Townsend. Information obtained there . was followed up on and one more adult and one more juvenile were arrested at Brian Head. Another adult was arrested later that day at the high school. According to Town-send, Town-send, a total of about two ounces of marijuana and various paraphrenalia was confiscated. The six were referred to the appropriate courts. |
