"The CLEP program was established so that individuals, old and young, can earn credit for . what they've learned in life no matter where or how they learned it which is directly applied to college graduation requirements," said Gary Dunf ord, director of counseling and testing at SUSC. Since . the national testing program began in 1971, well over a thousand SUSC students have earned CLEP credit and applied it towards graduation requirements. SUSC awards a maximum of 47 hours in general education areas. Students can take the entire battery of tests or only those they feel most proficient in, Dr. Dunford said. In addition to the general tests, a number of specialized tests, or subject examinations are also available. National College-level Examinations in English, humanities, natural sciences, mathematics and social sciences-history sciences-history will be given Apr. 10 at Southern Utah State College. CLEP testing will start at 8:30 a.m. in the SUSC Career Center, Administration Ad-ministration Building 102.
