Show Jones plays in contest 3 I f ' $ E P H R A I M -Parowan's Mike Jones continues to receive recognition for his outstanding out-standing ability on the hardwoods. The latest compliment came by way of an invitation in-vitation to participate in a 1-A versus 2-A all-star basketball game, held this past Saturday at Snow College. The contest pitted ten of the states' top hoop-sters hoop-sters from each of the two different divisions against each other, in what turned out to be a high scoring contest. Acording to Parowan High School Coach Ralph - Riggs, Jones played very well in a game that saw the 1-A team lose in a close contest by a score of 92-89. The game was nip and tuck throughout and saw the score tied at the end of the first three quarters. quar-ters. The 2-A stars pulled away at the end for the five point win. Jones was Parowan's premier big man during the 80-81 season. He averaged 17.8 points and eleven boards per outing. The big senior will be missed by coach Riggs and his squad next year. Mike played over half the game on Saturday and contributed six points, seven rebounds, and two blocked shots to the losing cause. He was also forced to bring the ball upcourt a good portion of the time due to the lack of guards on the 1-A squad.
