Show JV unbeaten A busy CHS junior varsity baseball team has already played four games to this point in the season. And the talented team is undefeated. The young Redmen's first contest was against the JV team from Hurricane, the six-inning game resulted in a 3-0 win for CHS. Cedar batters fared well having just eight strikeouts and five hits. Kevin Garrett picked up the win with Richard Miller coming on in relief. The Cedar pitchers pit-chers gave up just one hit and compiled 14 strikeouts of Tiger batters. bat-ters. ' Danny Adams batted in two runs while Ben Whitney was responsible for the third. Next, the team faced Lincoln County and came away with an easy 9-3 victory. Redmen coach Benny O'Neill used nearly all of the pitchers on his staff in this game t including Robert Pearson, Bruce Amador and K. C. Jones. On Tuesday of this week, the squad traveled to Dixie for a double-header double-header against Dixie. The Cedar High team proved to be the winners in the rivalry and swept the twin bill. In the first game, Cedar scored in the first inning and it turned out to I be the only run scored in the game by either team. ' The five-inning game ended with a 1-0 score in favor of the Reds. I The second game was only a four-inning con- . test. ' Cedar scored once ' in the second inning, i picked up three runs in the third, and one more in I the fourth. Dixie scored , one run in both the third ' and fourth innings to rack up two markers of their own. The final score of I the game was 4-2 in The Redmen's favor.
