Show CHS students cited Danny Matheson. Her work will also be displayed at the state convention. Three Cedar High School students will represent CHS at the annual state PTSA convention in Salt Lake City in May. Donna Lynne Messerly, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Grant V. Messerly, Newcastle, was awarded the distinction for her short story entitled "Sheridan Drive." The story was selected as best in the Reflections contest at CHS, best in Region VI and finally among the best in the state. She will present her winning entry at Skyline High School May 2 at the PTSA c convention. The story will then be sent on to national competition. In 1978 Messerly won the national Reflections "Top Winner" title with a story entitled "Home." Messerly, who has served as editor of the CHS newpaper said, "I have a love for writing and hope to have my work published someday". She plans to enter Weber State College this fall, where she will major in English. Also to represent their school will be Region VI winners Tonja Widick, a senior at CHS, and Dannette Matheson, a freshman. Widick, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marion Widick, was also the art Sterling Scholar in southwest south-west Utah. Her art will be displayed at the state PTA convention.
