"Fiber Art '81" will be shown through Apr. 29. SU art show opens served at the gallery following the jurors' program. The Cedar City Art Committee is a non-profit organization which is financially supported by private donations and a grant from the Utah Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts. "The committee's objective ob-jective is to provide a quality visual arts forum for artists and the public," stated Chairwoman Chair-woman Virginia Dusenbury. The exhibition will continue through Apr. 29. Shown in conjunctior with the fiber show wil be a one-man exhibitior of recent paintings bj Ron Rencher of Pim Valley. His work will b( shown in the smal gallery which is adjacen to the main exhibitior space in the Braithwait Gallery. Gallery hours are l( a.m. - 5 p.m., 7-9 p.m weekdays, and 1-6 p.m Saturdays and Sundays. Organizations arc requested to scheduh their group visits ir advance. Guide servict is available. Trapunto, lamellated felt, tapestry and reinforced rein-forced crochet are a few of the techniques used by the 37 fiber artists whose works were accepted for showing in "Fiber Arts 81." The show is the fortieth exhibition organized by the Cedar City Art Committee and opened yesterday at the Southern Utah State College Braithwaite Fine Arts Gallery. Nationally recognized fiber artists Januz and Nancy Kozikowski of Medanales, N. M., reviewed the slide entries submitted by artists in nine western states and selected 47 pieces for the exhibition. The jurors will present a slide program titled "Weaving, A Life-Style" the evening of the show's opening. Their presentation will begin at 7 p.m. in the Thorley Recital Hall.
