Show DWR Mail Hunting Questionaire A new big game hunting questionnaire is being used by the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources. The new questionnaire format will save the Division hundreds of dollars because it requires less handling and eliminates the need for several different dif-ferent forms. The new format required the formation of a new computer program which was accomplished through the cooperation of the University of Utah and the Utah Department of Natural Resources. A standardized pull-apart mailer was also needed. A computer uising the new program addresses the mailers, thus eliminating envelope stuffing and other costly handling procedures. Nearly 40,000 big game hunting questionnaries have been mailed out using the new system. The system worked very well, but a few hunters may have received the wrong questionnaire due to a computer program error. Hunters who receive the wrong questionnaire should disregard it. . Hunting questionnaires are the only method by which the Division can get valuable harvest information in-formation used to determine hunting seasons and formulate for-mulate game management plans. Hunters who still have a questionnaire are urged to fill it out and return it immediately. Winning entries were made and raced by Shawn Orton, first; Kirk Bess, second; and Kelly Stones, third. Trophies were awarded to these three boys. . REfreshments were served at the conclusion of the activity. |
