Show Kanarraville Jftfe by Car ma Williams The Kanarraville Cub Scout Troop 338 held their Cub Scout Award Dinner Friday evneing at the Ward Cultural Hall serving Tacos, punch and cake. A program with musical numbers by Luida Fenn accompanied by LaDawn Williams. Fonda Beckstead accompanied herself on the guitar. A monologue by Don Cosney and tribute to the Scouts by Jesse Prisby. Scout leaders Scott Berry and Leon Reeves presented the awards to the scouts, Jeff and Brandon Olsen, Troy Stokes, Brett Allred. Troy Utz, Craig Murdock and Wayne Fenn. After the awrds, Glen and Velma Geraghty presented a color country movie, then a cake walk under the direction of Marie Lewis. Everyone enjoyed the evening. Thanks goes to the administrators Truitt a and Gerrie Maxwell and Karen Ann Olsen. Mrs. Alvina Addison from Belvedere, S. Dakota spent a week here with her niece and nephew, Arline and Dick Agee. Also visiting the Agees were Arline's son Bobby Johnson and her sisters Pat Howard and Mernie Everetts all from Las Vegas, Nev. The Ranche Cafe opened for business with the original owners, James and Thelma Lovell. The cafe has been redecorated and the Lovells are serving their famous steak dinners with giant sour dough biscuits. Bevan and Doris Williams spent last week in San Bernardino with their brother and sister-in-law Roscoe and Georgia Williams. Don and Susan Cosney and girls enjoyed visits from ' Dons parents, Ralph B. Tate and his brother Joe Cosney and friend Shirley, all from Lancaster, Calif. Mr. Henry Bauer spent five days in Valley View Medical Center receiving medical treatment for complications of the flu. Mrs. Susan Cosney accompanied ac-companied a group of young people to the Dixie Stake Youth Conference in St. George. Those attending were Ellen and Delbert Reeves, Barbara Smith, Liz Ence, Vinda Fenn and Suzie Cosney. Mr. Richard Woodbury and sons from Salt Lake City spent the weekend here with his mother, Arvilla Woodbury. Wood-bury. Betty Beatty from Norco, ' Calif, and John Dixon from Corona, Calif, spent a few days here visiting their mother Jackie Dixon. Corry Davis from Cedar City, son of Robert and . Deanna Davis spent Friday here with his grandparents Virgil and Belle Daivs. Robert and Deanna came down Friday evening to get Corry. Also visiting with Belle and Virgil was their daughter and son-in-law Lennis and Dick McDonald and family from Murray, Utah. Mrs. Lena Williams is spending a a few months in Salt Lake City with some of her children. Douglas and Thias Williams and family iiiul Darlene Wilkenson and family. Mrs. Carol Powell spent three days visiting friends in Las Vegas, Nev. Charlie and Marsha Leeder spent Friday night Sat. and Sunday in Las Vegas, Nev. visiting relatives and friends. Avey and Clyde Gregerson from Salt Lake City spent Friday and Sat. here with their sister Alenna Berry. Scott and Aloma. Miss Joan Leeder spent the weekend in Cedar City with her grandparents Rex and Lois Hulet. The Relief Society held their birthday party Tuesday night at the Relief Society room. A short program consisting of a reading by Vicki Cornelius, two musical numbers by Sherry Prisby, Colleen Hall, Lorraine Cornelius and Pam Christensen, a talk by Sherry Prisby, a tribute to one of the oldest Relief Society president present Irene Davis, and tribute to the youngest president, Lorraine Cornelius, who is president now. Cake and ice cream was served to 28 members. Michael and Elaine Pheasant and family spent the weekend here with their parents Alva and Willard Batty. They came to get their son Shane who spent a month here. The other son, Troy Stokes will finish the school year here living with his uncle and aunt. John and Teresa Batty. 111 Rye is called "the grain of poverty" because it thrives on poor soils. |
