Show Wagner's Opera "Parsifal" Richard Wagner's last opera "Parsifal" will be broadcast on Saturday, April 5, starting at 11 a.m., over the Texaco- Metropolitan Opera Radio Network. It will be heard locally over KGSU-FM, the Southern Utah State College radio station. Singing principal roles will be mezzo-soprano Tatiana Troyanos, tenor Jess Thomas, baritone Norman Bailey, bass Jerome Hines, baritone Vern Shinall, and bass William Wilderman. James Levine will conduct. A musical and dramatic analysis of the Wagner masterpiece will be presented to the radio audience during the first intermission by musicologist Robert Lawrence. Facing Quizmaster Edward Ed-ward Downes on Texaco's Opera Quiz during the second intermission will be a panel of opera experts: Alberta Masiello, Siegmund Levarie and Terrence McNally. KGSU-FM is located at 90.1 megahertz on the radio dial. |
