Show Forensics Squad end Successful Year The CHS F orensics Squad ended the most successful year in their history with a most impressive showing at the 3-A, 4-A Forensics competition held at the University of Utah. CHS debaters finished in an impressive second place with the team of Lamoreaux-Price and Hugh-Tsun Hugh-Tsun breaking into the final rounds. The forensics squad finished seventh place overall and had several individual in the individual events area with impressive showings. Jim Mason broke into the final round of legislative forum which placed him among the top twenty student congressmen in the state. Lee Christiansen placed in the final rounds of impromptu speaking. Receiving superior ratings at the tournament were: Greg Jensen, Jim Mason, Scott Price, Lee Christiansen, Kent Hugh, William Tsun, and Adam Lamoreaux. Receiving high excellent ratings were: Bonnie Mackleprang, Doug Maxwell, Gayle Morgan, Lynn Rawlinson, Susan Grimshaw, Stuart Jones, and Mike Chidester. The state tournament ends an outstanding year for CHS Forensics. They have participated in nine major tournaments this year and garnered twenty competitive com-petitive trophies for their showcase at Cedar High. The young CHS squad promises to remain strong next year with many junior and sophomore participants returning. |
