Show Stitt attends National Confab ynwuiyu' . .titniiui "ii i'frNq is'' Hr " I session on woodwind I research. , Along with woodwind j specialists James Pellerite j of Indiana University and Edwin Riley of Columbus, j Georgia, she judged the I MTNA-Mason and Hamlin High School Auditions and the MTNA-Wurlitzer Collegiate ARtist Competition-National Woodwind Finals. Dr. Stitt has recently judged several local music contests including Central Utah REgion Sterling Scholar Competition, The SUSC instructor of music is active in several professional organizations including the International Double Reed Society, the National Association of College Wind and Percussion Per-cussion Instructors,and the American Recorder Society. Dr. Stitt is also a member of several honorary and service ser-vice organizations in music and education. She joined the SUSC faculty in 1977 and recently earned her doctor of musical arts degree from the University of Iowa, Towa City. 4 VIRGINIA K, STITT Virginia K. Stitt, woodwind wood-wind instructor at Southern Utah State College, recently participated in a national convention of the Music Teachers National Association held in Washington, D.C. While attending the March 17-20 convention, Dr. Stitt presented a paper, "Oboe and Bassoon Methods: Teacher Preparation for the Non-Specialist," for a |
