Show Prominent businessman i dies suddenly Jack T. Parkinson, prominent businessman and community leader, died February 4, 1980 at his home in Vernal of a heart attack. He was 44 years old: Jack Parkinson was the owner and operator of the Uintah Rexall Drug company. He served as a member of the State board of Pharmacy, was a member and past president of the Vernal Ver-nal Kiwanis Club, a charter member and past president of the board of the Dinaland Country Club, a member of the Vernal Chamber of Commerce, the Vernal Elks Lodge 2745 and a past Vernal Ver-nal Jaycee. Jack Parkinson was born August 29, 1935 to George T. and Melba Grace Burn Parkinson. He married Lisa Kar-rasch, Kar-rasch, March 9, 1957 in Aschaffensburg, Germany. He is survived by his wife, Lisa, son Hans, and daughter Angela, all of Vernal; Ver-nal; mother, Evanston, Wyoming; sisters: Susan Williams, Honolulu, Hawaii and Judy Bottom, Ogden, Utah. A graduate of the University of Utah, . Jack Parkinson received the Roky Award for outstanding graduate. He was a veteran of the Korean conflict. Mr. Parkinson was a member of the Masonic Lodge, 32nd degree Mason and a member of Scottish Rite and ElDalah Temple, Salt Lake City. He was also a member of the Uintah Shrine club. He was active in the Saint James Catholic Church. Prayer service and viewing will be held in his honor at the St. James Catholic church February 7 from 7 to 8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, February 8 at" 11 a.m. Burial will be in the Vernal Memorial Park by the Vernal Masonic lodge in conjunction conjunc-tion with the St. James Catholic Church. Chur-ch. Pallbearers will be Sam Snyder, Nick Meagher, Ned Lee, Hans Parkinson, Tom Shiozaki and Lou Holt. The ' honorary guard will be Dr. Ray Spendlove, Glade Watkins, Glenn Cooper, Harvey Madsen, LaMar Hawkins, Whitney Hammond, Dr. Parker Davies, William Slutz, Hal Duke and Gary Cuthberts. In lieu of flowers please make contributions con-tributions to the Intermountain Shrine Hospital in Salt Lake City. |
