Leslie and Quanita Behunin, parents of Merrill Behunin, professionally known as Buddy Merrill, who was with the Lawrence Welk Orchestra for 19 years. So don't miss this dance. Friday February the 8th at the Golden Age Center. It's been said that Utah does not have any groundhogs, groun-dhogs, well Friday night one dropped in on the Friday night dancers and he sure was a cute one. ..he predicted six more weeks of winter. And what a crowd everyone enjoyed every minute of the Groundhog eve dance. During intermission in-termission groundhog sausage, minature crackers and chip dip was served. H20, instead of punch went very well with the sausage. Those furnishing the snaks and decorations were: Melba Sargeant, Bryant and Marcella Roper, Dick and Ramona Adams, Pat and Jay Searle, Newel-and-Marion Behunin, lone and Wes Pun-. ches, Warren Belcher ' and Tony; Woodhouse, who played the part of the groundhog. Mrs. Sargeant accompanied ac-companied Tony for his part on the program. Mr. Roper came up with the idea of having a groundhog eve dance and the ladies followed through with the idea. We appreciate Tony for being such a good sport. We will miss him as he left for his home in Beaver Monday. He has been a guest at the Behunin home and is a friend of Melba Sargeant. Newcomers to the dance were: Mr. and Mrs. Ken Hadlock, from Texas; Mr. and Mrs. LeGrand Hadlock and Mr. and Mrs. Kay Winn. Happy birthday was sung to Bryon Hardy and Ted Wilckens. Jay Searle, dance director accounced the newly married couple present, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Kitchen. Kit-chen. Welcome back Ronald and Merle Horrocks. Glad to see Merle on the mend after an accident Christmas Day, when she received third degree burns. Sympathy is extended to Mr. and Mr. Bryce Wamsley in the loss of Bryce's father, who passed away in Arizona. Also the Behunins in the loss of Newel's cousin, Bert Cannon of Kearns, and to Lucille Allred and Crystal Reynolds and Newel in the loss of a cousin in Sparks, Nevada, Ida May Behunin Sealey. Last week we omitted Deloy Richens off the welcome back list, we are sorry. We are happy to see Deloy as he has been on the sick list for several months. Now that a kidney machine will be available in Roosevelt, it is hoped Deloy will be back with us on a regular basis. See you all this Friday! We'll have a great time... Wednesday's dinner at the Vernal Junior High School only had 55 Senior Citizens attending the fried chicken dinner, on Jan. 30. Next Wednesday we hope the weather is tolerable, so we will have a better crowd at the school. Monday's swiss steak dinner had 140 at the Golden Age Center on Feb. 4. George Johnston brought his display of articles that he has made out of wood, - an'd ' is going to present in Salt Lake ' .City, at the-?flTtPalace, Home and tiarderf Sh'ow'fhe first week In March. v Good luck George, all of them are Grand Prize Winners. On the menu for next Monday, February 11 is: turkey and dressing casserole, potatoes and gravy, broccoli; relish plate, fruit and green salads; coconut cream pie. See you there. Bingo winner for the week of Jan. 29 was Edith Gale with 8 games. Second place was Alice Mott with 4 games and in third place was Lena Mast and Vernal Gehring both tieing with three games apiece. January's bingo winner was Edith Gale with 17 games. Second plaee was the 1979 Champion, Alice Mott, with 15 games and her sister Lena Mast close behind for third place with 14 games. Happy birthday this week to: Maude Thacker.Feb. 10; Vera Allred, Feb. 13; Velma Watkins, Feb. J5. Also happy anniversary to Maude and LaMar Thackcr, Feb. 13. At the dinner Monday someone took the wrong ladies coat home with them. If the person taking the wrong coat would contact the center the exchange can be made. Have a nice week!
