Show Ashley school "Reflections" contest Ashley Elementary Annual Cultural Art "Reflections" Contest started Monday, Mon-day, Feb. 4, and will run until March 4. This will give the students one month to work on their projects. The theme this year is "Behind the gate of tomorrow". The different areas in which a student can enter are: visual art painting, drawing, and sculpture; literature poetry, prose and drama and also, music scores or original composition, with or without words. The judging will be based on: evidence of creative ability and originality, and expression of the theme by the student. The age categories for state par- . ticipants will be primary grades 1-3 and intermediate 4-6. The winners here at Ashley will be given a gift for first, second se-cond and third place. There will also be some special awards given. Ashley Elementary PTA hopes to have the parents' support in this program and for it to be a big success again this year. Ahsley Elementary PTA is having a general PTA meeting Thursday February 21, at 7:30 p.m. at the school. The agenda will include a musical program pro-gram provided by Mr. Long's Ashley Singers and Mr. Rust's 4th grade flute players. The meeting will also cover expenditure ex-penditure for new playground equipment equip-ment and election of nominating com- ' mittee to find officers for next year. t i - i j " y : .v;,nA rT - :.
