Show Ballard 1 Tellntha Rosmussen I Services for Otis Butcher Funeral services were held for Otis Butcher April 10, 1980 in Ballard Ward Chapel. Prelude and po6tlude music by Renee Womack. Officiating was Bishop Earl Murphy. The family prayer was by Mark Kettle and the opening prayer ttas by Zane Asay. A musical selection, "Beyond the Sunset" was sung by Lois getts, Elaine Shisler and Sylene Ac-cuttoroop Ac-cuttoroop accompanied by Renee Womack- The first speaker was Orlan Cook, followed by Bishop Earl Murphy. A muscial selection "Oh My Father" was played by Wesley Ercanbrack on (he violin accompanied by Elaine Shisler. The closing prayer was by Karl Shisler. Interment was in the Roosevelt Memorial Park. Dedication of the grave was by Karl Betts. Pallbearers were Ronnie, Jerry and Charles Butcher, Elvyn Bascom, Vera Hamilton and Mark Kettle. The Relief Society cared for the flowers and lunch was served in the Ballard recreational room by the Relief Society. Those who came for the funeral from out of the Basin were Mr. and Mrs. Jim Butcher, Jerry Butcher and Charles Butcher all from Evanston, Wyming. Jessie Patten from Salt Lake City, Sandra Larsen from Riverton, Mrs. Pat Stevensen, John Bumgartle and Dale Bumgartle from K earns, Mr. and Mrs. Bed Felter from Granger, Mrs. Nadine Isley from Fruita, Colo., and son Garden, Mrs. Sanfred Butcher from Sydney, Neb., Charlett Gerguson and children, Chella, Alice, Lloye and Dene all from Montrose, Colo., Bill Carter also from Montrose, Mr. and Mrs. George Killy and Shaunna from Heber City, Utah. Mr. and Mrs. Deloy Richens were here for a brief visit last Sunday. They returned to Salt Lake City the same day. 1 Bruce Timothy from Salt Lake City was here over the weekend tuning pianos and visited at his aunt Telintha Rasmussen's home. Mr. and Mrs. Charles and Shirley Davies from Duchesne purchased an acre of ground from Kelly Redmond one mile south of Ballard church. They are preparing to move a trailer home on their ground. Charles helps to set up the Scotchman trailer homes. Visitors at the William McMullin home for the weekend were Mrs. McMullin's parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Thompson of Ogden,,,, Mrs. Pauline., Clark ,and,rtwo sons, a ' Doug and Marvin, from Crystal, New Mexico, were here over the weekend. They attended the graduation of her son, Jessie Clark, from BYU in Provo April 18, then they all came to Verden Heaton's home for the weekend. Jessie , graduated in business managment and 1 finance and he and his wife and baby i are on their way to Ohio where he has j employment. Sunlight saving time starts next Sunday April 27, be sure and set your i clocks ahead 1 hour. Ranee, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wilford Ashton, has received an LDS , mission call to Munich, Germany. Her I farewell will be held May 25 in Ballard I ward sacrament meeting. Ranee has ; been attending BYU. Will Jenkins is now out of the Salt Lake 1 hospital. He is staying at his i daughter's, Lois Johnstun in Sandy. His 'eg is still in a cast and he has to return . daily to the hospital for medical care. Leona Goodrich Manwaring, 91, died I April 4 at the home of her daughter, Mr. j Grant (Hope) Williams in Spanish 1 Fork. Her husband, Elmer, died May 6, 1979. The Manwarings for many years lived here in Ballard Ward, where they raised their family. Elmer was a Patriarch for Roosevelt Stake for several years before they moved away. Monday April 21, all of the Wilford Ashton family drove to Rexburg, Idaho to see his daughter, Adell, graduate from Ricks College. Karen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Max Todd and Dale, son of Mrs. Betty Fowler and William H. Smith were married in the Provo LDS Temple April 10. They had a reception last Saturday evening, April 19 in North Ballard Ward recreational hall. Jack and Eunice Cook went to Salt Lake City last week to attend the funeral of Leona Manwaring. She is a relative. They took a car load. Lee Angus was among them. Jess Hullinger, had to return from his LDS mission in California and have a pacemaker placed in his heart. He used to live in Ballard. |
