One of the most popular features of the day was "Espanolandia," a simulated Spanish speaking country. The students entered the country by buying a passport, and receiving a visa. From that point on they had to speak Spanish, pass through customs, ex-" change money, buy tickets and food, and complete a number of tasks before they were allowed to leave the country. At each location they got their visa stamped. In order to leave the county they had to pass through customs and answer certain questions. Participants in the Language Bowl from the German classes were Sonja Slaugh, Scott Peterson, Sheri Pritchett and Richard Kirk. They competed with other German teams answering questions ques-tions about culture, language and country. coun-try.
