Jerry Allred nabs first place crowns Uintah captured first place in the 1600, 3200 meter run, 800 meters, medley relay and in the javelin, but Cyprus defeated the Utes, 83 to 41, in a dual meet in Magna, April 16. Jerry Allred was a double first place winner in the 1600 meter mn (mile), 4:57.77 and in the 3200 meter run (2 mile), 10:50. Dave Emery nabbed first place in the javelin with a throw of 171''i". Kenny Richens placed first in the 800 meter run at 2:13.6 and Uintah's medley relay team, Dave Emery, Lynn Reynolds, Mike Johnson and Joe Lance, placed first. Cyprus' Gilbert Vasquez nabbed first place in the 100 meter dash at 9.87 and placed first in the 400 meter dash at 50.43. Smith of Cyprus nabbed first place in the 110 high hurdles with a tin of 15.13. Cyprus also placed first in fc 400 relay, 300 hurdles, 43.57; 2 meters, 1600 meter relay and shot pi 44'10". The Utes' Kay Smuin captui second places in the 100 meter dash 10.31 and 400 meter dash at 51.31. An Nelson placed second in the 1600 mei run at 5:07.6. Nabbing third places for the Ui were: Mike Johnson, 400, 54.43; Ran Smuin, 300 hurdles, 44.13; Ga Watkins, 800, 2:14.58; Ron Ellis, : high hurdles, 15.3; Calvin Knight, X, and Randy Smuin, 200 meters.
