| Show UNITED EFFORTS URGED BY GOVERNOR BAMBERGER By Governor Simon Bamberger THE abnormal prosperity enjoyed by the United States during the past two or thre years having been interrupted by the by-the the triumph of the allied forces it is but natural and proper that we we should d seek methods v hick will bring prosperity under peace conditions It is one of the immutable laws of economics that there must be fluctuations It is the old law of supply and demand During the past two years all our vast resources and limitless energies have been devoted to meeting the demands of war Those demands have been met and until new demands are created our activities are hampered by an excess of supply History records that incident to every war is either abnormal prosperity or bankruptcy and that peace ultimately brings prosperity There is however between these two periods ot of prosperity prosperity prosper prosper- ity a period of uncertainty or readjustment We have experienced the prosperity of war Inthe In Inthe the future we anticipate the of peace Just now we are on the brink of the chasm chasm- uncertainty l The he condition is not peculiar to any locality state or country it is worldwide The chasm must be spanned by by- each community state and nation and the connecting structure can be made effective with speed proportionate to cooperative effort During the recent conflict there was a unity of effort and purpose throughout the country The end has more than justified the means There must be a similar unity in our ende vors if we tire ire to hasten the prosperity of peace We do not know the extent of the resources of our state but bul we appreciate that they are vast beyond comprehension Lets Let's pull together to make the most of them |
