Show WORK IS PROGRESSING ON WESTERN PACIFIC Eight miles separate the western end of Western Pacific tracks from the Nevada line. Twenty m les remain td cross the desert, when water will be plentiful. Water Is now carried by rail from Grant to a reservoir about sixty miles west. Gravity carries the precious fluid byplpe-line byplpe-line to Knolls station, where it flows into engines and tank cars. As exclusively announced in THE TELEGRAM a few days ago. trains are expected to run on the Western Pacific as far as the Nevada line by the first of j August. |
