Show : SAME POLES FOR CLUSTER LIGHTS AND CAR WIRES The Improvement committee of the City Council went on record last night as favoring a uniform plan for the better Ms-htln of Main street. The matter ram4 before the committee while considering con-sidering the petition of Z. C. M. I. and other property-owners on the east side of Main street between South Temple nd First South streets. The plan of the property-owners, which i was presented by ex-Fire Chief W. H. ) Bywater, contemplated the erection of east Iron poles at Intervals of thirty thirty feet, and the placing of cluster lights on them. The committee was of the opinion that the plans recently prepared pre-pared by the City Engineer, which call for wrought . iron poles at intervals of fifty-nine feet, would be better, as It, would mean a uniform lighting of the street. City Engineer Kelsey's plan of placing the poles flfty-nlne feet apart contemplates the use of the poles for trolley wires also. |
