'Instead of $400 and $500 a month, and in some instances even $600, the stars of .the American Association will beplaying ball for a little more than The magnates of the American asso- ciation, iUf believed, are planning to adopt a salary limit, something that is not in force in the association. The limit for each player, it is said, is to be $1800. .In the A. A. the magnates have been paying bigger salaries, from their point of view, than the ability of the players, coupled with the law of supply ana demand, would justify. Not being in the baseball business for any physical culture reason, the men that pay , the salaries are begin-, ning to think of making a little more money. Not only is this spirit evident in the class A league, but the majors, too, have been inoculated. There is a movement move-ment among the big league club owners to establish a salary limit, and that limit will be $2400.
