Show I BEAVER - 4 BE A VEIL Dec. 1. Professor Cowles of the LnlversUy of Utah and Mrs. arah B. Hollister of Salt Lake City wore the principal speakers at the teachers' Institute Insti-tute which lias been in session here this week. Among the visiting teachers In attendance were Herman J. Wells. Ma hot B. Street. Wnrd R. McAllister and Mrs. Ward R. McAllister, all of Salt Lake dry, who are leaching in tho Milford high school. Miss Madeline Fra7r was the recipient of a "silver shower" Tuesday afternoon, given by members and officers of the Beaver Y. L, M. I. A. in appeclation of the efficient and conscientious work done by her while acting as secretary and treasurer of that organization. Supper was served following the delightful social hour. The teachers of the Beaver city schools entertained in honor of the visiting teachers Wednesdav evening at the Mur-dock Mur-dock academy. A feature of the evening was a musical programme, which was Interspersed with dancing. A Hoovor luncheon was served. "Miss Helen Newell has gone to Cedar City to spend a few days with Miss Lois Go wans, who is teaching there In the public schools. The Philomathean club of the Murdoch academy pave ifs annual ball Thursday evening in the academy auditorium. A decorative scheme in the national colors was carried out. The affair was largely-attended largely-attended and proved the social success of the season at the school. Lynn Hodges gave a "chicken ronst" Monday evening to a number of his friends who motored from town to the Hodges farm. Those who attended were Miss Helen Xeweil. Miss Virgie Argylle, Miss Foote.
