MOREY, genera! manager of mountain division of the Red Cross, and Henry Swan, acting director of the bureau bu-reau of publicity. Plan Series of Meetings in Utah Cities During the Present Week. JOHX W. MOREY, general manager man-ager of the mouutaiu division of the Red Cross society at .Heaver, and Henry Swan, acting director of the bureau of publicity, director of the bureau of development and temporary tem-porary director of the woman's bureau, bu-reau, will address a mass meeting to be held in Salt Lake Thursday at the j Hotel Ctah. During their visit, to lUtah they will also hold meetings in Provo, Ogdeu and Logan. Mr. Morey is president of the Morey Mercantile com pa ny of Denver and js prominent in the social and commercial life of Colorado. When the reorganization of the Red Cross was first contemplated, Harvey D. (.lib-son, (.lib-son, general manager of the Red Cross, requested Mr. Morey to accept the managership of the mountain division, di-vision, as he was already a member of the state commission of defense. He accepted the posit iod, gi vi ug up his business interests for the duration of the war, in order successfully to handle his work. Mr. Morey is the son of C. S. Morey: chairman of the board of directors ot the Great Western Sugar company, aDd is a member of the Denver Country club, the Denver club and the University Univer-sity club. Mr. Swan is a partner in the firm of J. X. Wright & Co., bond and stock dealers of Denver. In accepting the directorships of the bureaus in his charge, he has given up his business interests for the duration of the war and is giving his ent ire time to the work for the Red Cross. He has taken an active part in the civic and commercial com-mercial life of Colorado, being president presi-dent of the Colorado Taxjiavers' league and took the lead in the recent school reform measure put through the last Colorado legislature for the purpose of raising the standard of the schools, i Both Mr. Swan and Mr. Morey are j devoting their entire time to the Red Cross work without remuneration. |
