Show Tffi ESTABLISHES TBEKfiGT SYSTEM One of the most unique features in local lo-cal real estate circles during recent yeaVs is. the trackage system which is in process of being- installed by Charles Tyng, general manager of the Tyng Warehouse and Storage company, extending ex-tending from Ninth South street between Sixth and Seventh West streets north to Seventh South street. The new trackage system, which is said to be the only actual and effective trackage track-age in existence in the city, and which makes possible the utilization of more than fourteen acres for industrial sites, was consummated after two years of successful suc-cessful endeavor on the part of Mr. Tyng in buying up the property rights of scores of owners scattered all over the country. One track of the system is already complete com-plete and work has been begun on two parallel tracks. The construction of a main track, with spur tracks on either side, is said to constitute the principal advantage which this system will have over other trackage systems in the country. coun-try. The trackage is cinder ballasted throughout and is constructed of ninety-pound ninety-pound steel rails. The entire cost of the trackage alone is estimated at $1S,000. Already many prominent easterners who have had their attention focused on Salt Lake as a strategic center for manufacturing purposes have investigated investi-gated the trackage and are contemplating taking over leases on the sites which are thus opened up for industrial purposes. "My chief object in obtaining this particular par-ticular acreage," declared Mr. Tyng yesterday, yes-terday, "was to enable the small manufacturer, manu-facturer, as well as the big one, to secure, se-cure, a site for the establishment of his business which will have every advantage of a city location, including good street car service, electric light and power, city water, sewerage and phone service. In addition, it is served by every railroad entering the city." |
