Show GOAL REPORT SHOWS WEEK'S SUPPLY HERE Fourteen Local Coal Dealers Deal-ers Send in Data to Investigating Inves-tigating Commission. ' Aeeording to reports filed yesterday by the loeal coal dealers with the pub-lie pub-lie utilities commission, there was about 17,000 tons of coal in all of the yards of the city, a supply scarcely sufficient to fill the demand for a week during cold weather, tho daily consumption con-sumption heing estimated at about 2000 tons a day for domestic, and heating purposes. The reports were made on request of the commission, constituting a feature of the investigation now pending concerning con-cerning the shortage of cars, it having been claimed at the hearing held before be-fore the commission during the past week that the railroads are furnishing to the coal mines of Carbon county less than 50 per cent of the number required re-quired to handle the normal output. Responding to the request of the commission for reports concerning the amount of coal on hand September 21, figures were furnished by fourteen of the local dealers. Four of the dealers reported that they had plenty of coal in their yards and wore keeping up with their orders. Three reported that they were behind in their orders and had a very small supply in their yards. One dealer reported that he was reciv-ing reciv-ing coal slowly, while, the rest submitted submit-ted no statement beyond the tonnage on hand. The reports show that an average of 30 per cent of the loeal consumers of coal have their winter's supply in their coal bins, and that less than 3000 tons of the coal on hand in the yards was received from the mines between September Sep-tember 10 and 13. |
