Dr. Benjamin Benja-min W. Black of this city, who was recently commissioned first lieutenant In the medical officers reserve corps, U. S. army, has received orders to report to the commanding officer at Fort Logan, Colorado, for duty with the First Colorado Colo-rado i i fan try, and is closing up his affairs af-fairs in order to leave here the early part of the corn in? week. At the Medico-Chinirical college of Philadelphia, from which school Dr. Black is a graduate, he made an excellent excel-lent record, being awarded prizes for scholarship. Sixteen of his immediate classmates have received commissions in the army and are on active duty. After his graduation Dr. Black served as house physician at the L.. D. S. hospital hos-pital in Salt Lake City and later was a member of the house staff of the Southern South-ern Pacific Railroad hospital in San Francisco. Fran-cisco. From this position he located in Grantsvllle and has built up a very successful suc-cessful practice here. Dr. Black' was born in Fillmore, "Utah, where his parents now reside. His wife is residing for the present in Salt Lake City. |
