Huffaker, secretary and treasurer treas-urer of the Sunset Mining company, who has just returned from a visit to the Lea iore, Idaho, mines, is mueh pleased by the showing made, lie says that all the ore bins and many of the stopes ore filled with ore and several hundred tons have been placed on the dump awaiting shipment. Tho embargo that has been effective since early in July has prevented the shipment of ore, but' the railroad company reports that the embargo will be lifted b September Septem-ber 27, when the company will be able to ship a large tonnage. Superintendent Thomas Waldon is now installing power to run air drills and Anaconda hoists, and it is expected that this recently purchased equipment will bo in operation within ten days. Ar. Huffaker says that tho winze that is being sunk below the lower tunnel tun-nel level has proved that the great lead-silver lead-silver vein goes to the depths. It has also proved that the ore increases in value with depth. In the face of the winze at the present time, Mr. Huffaker Huf-faker says, there is an eight-inch stringer of lead-silver ore which assays 74 per cent lead and 35 ounces in silver. sil-ver. He says the whole face of the winze will average 20 per cent lead and 10 ounces silver. Several engineers who have recently visited the property foretell for it a great future under the planned developments. |
