Plans for national na-tional defense and preparedness hn v given great Impetus to the improvement of marksmajiship among civilians and resulted re-sulted in a much extended list of competitors compet-itors this season for the Interclub Gallery Gal-lery championship of the United States, held annually undor te auspices of thoK National Rifle Association of America, which is fo'stored by the war department. This season seventy-two clubs have entered en-tered teams of ten men each. The five highest scures made by the t,eam will be totaled as the club's weekly match score. The clubs have been divided in six clnsses with eleven matches -each, extending from December 25 to March 4. Each man will shoot twenty times at seventy-five seventy-five feot, using .22-caliber, rifles and ammunition, am-munition, in prone position. The club making tiie highest score for the season will receive the championship trophy and medals will be presented po the winning team in each class.
