Show PARSONS DISCUSSES MONEY ASSESSMENTS With reference to the assessment of bank deposits in 91H A. H. Parsons, county assessor, issued a statement yesterday yes-terday in which he said that there was do change whatever in the statutes regarding re-garding the assessment of money or other oth-er personal property, "whether in banks, safety deposit boxes' or old stockings." "I will not have access to records, nor is there anv requirement for bank officers to furniph lists of their depositors,'' deposi-tors,'' said Assessor Parsons. "Unless citizens volnn rariU' report- pioney , on hand-, it cannot be assessed, -and if conscience con-science impels anybody to honestly return re-turn money for taxation, it does not matter where it is kept. Jt is folly for depositors to withdraw funds from their banks on that account." |
