Show ARRANGE COMMUNITY TREE FOR CHRISTMAS City Federation of Women 's Clubs Makes Plans for' Municipal Observance Ob-servance of Holiday. A community Christmas tree will be a feature of the Yuletirle season again this year. The City Federation of Women's Wo-men's Clubs is behind the plan that will result in placing a beautifully decorated deco-rated tree on the west side of the City and County building Sunday evening, December 24. The tree will be entirely symbolic. There will be no gifts to burden its decorated dec-orated boughs. It will be brilliantly lighted and ornately decorated. The assistance of Dr. Ernest A. Smith, city "superintendent of schools, and Supervising Su-pervising Principal George A. Eaton of the high schools has been asked by the clubwomen to the end that the venture may prove entirely successful. Others who have been enlisted are Miss Evelyn Keilly and J. H. tjoombs, principals prin-cipals in the city schools; Hugh W. Dougall, supervisor of music in the school svstem, and L. P. Christensen, leader of the high school cadet band. Mounted trumpeters and the cadet band, under the direction of L. P. Christensen, will start from the monument, monu-ment, South Temple and Main streets, at o o'clock Sunday afternoon, and will march to the grounds of the City and County building. There the observance of the occasion will include an address bv Mavor W. Mont Ferrv, the singing of '-Come, Ail Ye Faithful,-' by 400 school children under the direction of Hugh W. Dougall, aud the singing of "America" bv everyone present. |
