Show NEW OIL COMPANY IN FOSSIL FIELD Special to The Tribune. KEMMERKR, Wyo., Dec. 8 The county clerk's office reports that there is a marked rush in this county to secure se-cure oil claims in the various oil sections sec-tions of the couuty since the recent announcement an-nouncement that the Plains Oil company com-pany of Kansas City is guing to develop de-velop the La Barge oil field, thirty-five thirty-five miles north of here. A company has also been formed to develop a field at Fossil, fifteen miles west of nere. A rig will be put to work there within a lew weeks. The Fossil field is reported to hold out promising prospects. Way back in 1S84 Senator C. D. Clark sank a well in this field that produced a flow of 600 barrels. Not much comment was made on the discovery at that time, but it is a matter of considerable discussion at present and has resulted in the formation for-mation of the company. |
