Show SPECTACULAR HOOP BATTLE AT GRANITE In a spectacular baskethall game at the Granite gym yesterday, the Granite high school faculty swamped the giade teachers of Granite district yesterday by a 59 to 12 score. The Granite faculty team was made up 1 of five teachers wiio were once college "stars,' and, having had regular practice, played great ball. 'The spectators consisted of all the students stu-dents of the high school and the entire teaching force of the district. The grade teachers have just organized and hope to practice up until they will be able to humble the faculty in ihe next game, which will be played in the near future. The lineup: Granite faculty. The final games of the class series of the Granite high school will be played Monday and Tuesday in the Granite gym. The class rivalry has been running very high and there is a good chance for the sophomores to win the series -yet, and they are aiming high enough to make the trial for first place. Coach Ashton has his basketball men out every evening for practice and hopes to have a fast team ready for his first game. The men are showing up in great style, and there is a good-sized squad out trying to make the team. There are a number of freshmen out working every ntuht and it may be that Granite's team will contain several freshmen this year. |
