Show HOSPITAL CORPS TO BREAKCAMP SOOi Expected That Utah Sec- ond Cavalry Will Serve During the Winter. Unofficial advices from Kbgales, Ariz., last night stated that the Utah hospital corps entrained in the afternoon with the Second Idaho Infantry and will reach Salt Lake late tomorrow. Officials here said that It was very probable that the Utah boys left yesterday, as only two coaches were necessary for the movement move-ment of the medical corps, and these coaches could be easily connected to one of the Idaho train sections. Advices received earlier in the day were to the effect that the Utah unit was breaking camp and would not leave until Friday. It Is thought by officers here that the work of camp breaking was completed In time so that the entraining took place with the Idaho command. Up to a late hour last night no word of the entraining was received in the city through official military channels. However, it is thought that the departure depar-ture was made so hurriedly that no message mes-sage was sent. , "With the receipt of orders at Fort Douglas yesterday to resume recruiting for the Second j cavalry on the Mexican line, it Is taken to indicate that this command will remain in the south during dur-ing the winter. The four Utah troops which are still doing duty are under the command of Major W. B. Wallace. An enthusiastic welcome is being arranged ar-ranged for the boys upon their return. With more than 140 members of the Utah battery through the physical examinations exam-inations at Fort Douglas, and most of the equipment checked in. Indications are that the men will be released from federal service Friday. The men will be paid off Friday morning and will then return to i civil life. |
