Show NEEDS OF THE U. A. C. SET OUT IN REPORT Total of $160,000 Wanted From State During Next Two Years, Trustees Say. To properly conduct the work of the institution during the coming biennium, the Utah Agricultural college will need a total of ?ltil,000, according to the biennial bi-ennial report of the board of trustees of the college, which has just been Issued for filing with the governor. The board asks that the governor recommend to the legislature that the full amount needed be appropriated. One of the principal Items of the appropriation ap-propriation that is sought is ?53,'J0O for the erection of a dairy and livestock building, which is said to be badly needed in connection with the work of the institution. insti-tution. Another large item is $40,000 for an Irrigation and farm machinery building that is also said to be badly needed. The sum of $10,000 is asked for a home economics eco-nomics practice house. Completion of the heating plant will require an appropriation appropria-tion of ?1 8,000 more, the hoard estimates. It is 'declared that an increase in the appropriation for the experiment station of $7500 will be necessary to carry on the work properly. It is announced in the report that the board lias appointed W. W. Henderson, one of the foremost biologists of the west, as professor of zoology and entomology to succeed Dr. E. G. Titus, who resigned recently. re-cently. It is noted in the report that the offer of the United States war department to establish a reserve training corps at the college has been accepted. Under this I arrangement all cadets will receive their uniforms free and ah electing to take a four 3'ears' course will receive ?9 a month from the government during the last two years of the course. |
