Show TO COMPROMISE ON CONTROL OF FLOODS Endeavor Will Be Made to Bring Together To-gether Advocates of Measures Now Up for Consideration. WASHINGTON, Dec. 19. A compromise com-promise flood control bill will be submitted sub-mitted to the senate committee by Senator Sen-ator Newlauds tomorrow in an eifort to bring together advocates of the New-lands New-lands general water conservation and flood control scheme and champions of the pending house bill which would appropriate ap-propriate $50,000,000 for control of the lower Mississippi and Sacramento (Cal.) rivers. Senator Newlands por posed to compromise com-promise differences on this subject by agreeing to a measure which would retain re-tain the proposed appropriations for Mississippi and Sacramento rivers, if advocates of that measure would agree to include in it the machinery of his bill providing for a general system of control of waterways for the whole United States, and to appropriate at least $1,000,000 to bein necessary sur vevs lor inauguration of his plan. Chairman Hetcher asked that the compromise bill be drafted and submitted. sub-mitted.
