Show CHIEF ENGINEER OF BURLINGTON DIES LINCOLN, Neb-, Dec 19. T. E. Calvert, Cal-vert, chief engineer of the Chicago, Burlington Bur-lington & Quincy railroad system, died at his country home. Overlook, near here, this morning. He had been ill about six weeks. Thomas Elwood Calvert was 67 years of age. He began his service with the I Burlington railroad as a member of a surveyors' chain gang In 1871, a year after his graduation from Yale university. From 1S75 to 1905 he "was superintendent of the lines west of the Missouri river. Mr. Calvert was taken sick In Wyoming. He had heart trouble. The funeral will be held Thursday afternoon. The pallbearers, selected from his old railroad associates, are H E Byram, G. W. Holdrege, E. M. Wester- I velt. E. Gignall, A. M. Balrd aad F. T. Darrow. f |
