Show BEVERIDGE TO RUN FOR COUNTY CLERK Prominent Young Republican Announces An-nounces Candidacy for Important Public Position. Andrew E. Beveridge yesterday announced an-nounced himself a candidate for tlie Republican Re-publican nomination for clerk of Salt Lake county. Mr. Beveridge 's announcement an-nouncement is of interest to hosts of his Republican friends, as he has been very active in the party here for many years. Mr. Beveridge was born in Clinton, Pa., in 1871 and came to L'tah with his parents when be was six years old. Ho has lived here ever since. He attended school at St. Mark's school and Hammond Ham-mond hall of the old Salt Lake academy. Later he took special schooling in accounting. ac-counting. Although he has never been elected to office, Mr. Beveridge has had wide experience in the office of county clerk, to which he aspires, from having served as a deputy there for five years. He began there as an extra copyist and worked his way up to chief deputy under un-der the administration of County Clerk L. P. Palmer. Mr. Beveridge has been a lifelong Republican. He is secretary of the Young Men's Republican club of this county. His friends within and without that organization are planning- to assist his candidacy in the Republican county convention. |
