Show BUSINESS IN EAST IS FAIRLY AFLAME Frank Botterill, Who Returned Yesterday, Yester-day, Says That Spirit of Optimism Pervades Entire Country. That the entire country is aflame with business and that, eastern manufacturers are experiencing the most remarkable period in the business history of the country dming recent years, is tho re-purr re-purr brought hack to Salt Lake ves-torday ves-torday hy Frank Botterill of the Tom Botterill Automobile company of this city, who, with Mrs. Botterill", has just completed a .'.iUeO-mile trans-continental trip in a Hudson Nuptr Six. Mr. Botterill drove into his estab-i luhment mi State street Monday afternoon after-noon at J: lo after having driven 7S miles from Denver in twenty hours and five minutes in his car. Mr. Botterill has been east since earlv in June and during his trip has motored with Mrs. Botterill from Detroit to Geneva, Ge-neva, to New York, to Pittsburg, Philadelphia, Phila-delphia, Indianapolis and on through the middle west into Denver and thence to Salt Bake. 4Ie has visited many easteru cities and in his talks with business busi-ness men, bankers, automobile manufacturers manufac-turers and men at tho' head of other industries he declares he caught a note of strident optimism and a feeling that the good times this country is now enjoying en-joying will continue indefinitely, despite war conditions. "It is positively exhilarating to get into the big cities of the east and hear them talk business," declared Mr. Botterill Bot-terill last night. j ''The volume of business in hand is tremendous. The automobile manufacturers manufac-turers scarcely know which way to turn to handle their orders for cars. The factories I represent, Dodge Brothers, Hudson and Pierce Arrow, are exert jn; everv effort to catch up with i he demand de-mand for oars. The fact that Mr. Botterill took a new car stiff from the factory and drove it miles without a mishap of any nature and with practically no mechanical trouble of any nature is considered con-sidered an unusual performance. |
