Show WOUNDED TROOPERS ARRIVE AT BORDER ON WAY TO HOSPITAL COLUMRCh. N. M.. July 3. Serjeant Farrier, C troop, Tenth cavalry, and Private Pri-vate Finest Johnson, K -troop, survivors of the Carrizal fight, arrived here today from Mexico on their way to the Fort Bliss hospital. Farrier is suffering from a Mauser bullet bul-let wound in his wrist which he received while following Captain Boyd In the forefront fore-front of the battle, Johnson Is not wounded, but has been unfitted by the hardships he underwent. The trooper said he fought his way out of the mellce with a six-shooter. Ho walked sixty miles before he was picked up by Lieutenant Meyers's relief column. Johnson was a horseholder under Captain Cap-tain Morey, Compelled to flee, he seized a mount and rode twenty-eight hours he-fore he-fore he succeeded In reaching the American Amer-ican base. During this time he was without with-out water to drink. |
