Show PROMINENT MUSICIAN OF SALT LAKE DIES Harry A. Mercer Expires at Local Hospital, After an Unsuccessful Operation for Appendicitis. Harry A. fiercer, for twenty-five years a resident of Salt Lake City, who came here from Nebraska at the age of eighteen, died early yesterday morning morn-ing at a 1 o r a 1 hospital, after an unsuccessful unsuc-cessful operation for appendicitis, fte was 43 years of age at the time of 'his death and resided with his wife and voting daughter, Alice, who survive nitn, at 2.3 Pleasant avenue. Mr. Mercer was well known and had a large circle of friends, among whom j are included members of tho "various organizations to which he belonged. During his life in Salt Lake Mr. Mercer was a bookkeeper, stenographer and accountant. He also was sn a number of bands, playing the trombone. trom-bone. He was a. member of the Musicians Musi-cians ' union, was a member of the Eagles club and a Mason. At the time of his death he was in the employ of the General Engineering companv on Pierpont street, prior to" which he had I worked in the city treasurer s office, and also for Walker Brothers dry goods store, which engaged his services ! shortly after his arrival here. Funeral services will be held at 3 o 'clock tomorrow afternoon under the j auspices of Ardent a lodge, No. 3, j F. and A- M. The interment will be in Mt. Olivet cemetery. |
