Show HEALTH OP THE CITY SHOWS IMPROVEMENT Of forty-seven cases of contagious and Infectious diseases reported during the week, there were twenty-one cases of measles, according to the weekly report of the city board of health for tho week ending May 12. Two cases of smallpox wero reported, six cases of diphtheria, two cases of scarlet fever, nine cases of whooping cough, one case of pneumonia pneu-monia and six' cases of chlckenpox. According to the report, three houses arc now under quarantine for smallpox, fourteen houses on account' of scarlet fever, eight houses on account of dlpth-therla dlpth-therla and one case of smallpox remains at the Isolation hospital. During the week there were fifty-two births reported, of which thirty-two were males and twenty females. Twenty-nine deaths were reported during the week, of which eighteen wero males and eleven females. |
