Driggs, superintendent su-perintendent of the State School for the Deaf and Blind, received word today from Gallaudel. college. Washington, D C, that the degree of Master of Arts has been conferred upon him by the board of trustees and the faculty of the institution. in-stitution. Mr. Driggs was graduated from the normal department of the college col-lege In the class of 1898. The college Is vonsldercd the best of Its kind In the country. The normal department Is maintained for persons who desire to qualify ns teachers or the deaf, and blind. It was named for the founder of the first school for the deaf which was established estab-lished in Connecticut in 1S17. |
