The fire on the Ncz Forces reserve in Idaho Is out. All the fires In the Bitter Root mountains moun-tains south of Missoula are extinguished. The fires above Clinton, cast of Missoula, aro dead. Sheepmen report tonight a fire on Skalkaho creek on tho cast side of the Bitter Root, which has crossed the low divide from Granite county. An extensive pack outfit was dispatched from Plains, Mont., today to go up Thompson river lo the head of Vermillion creek, Montana, to subdue the fire there, and It Is believed that tho rain which has fallen in the hist two days will make this comparatively easy. James Riley's name has been taken from the death roll: he Is reported as alive In Spokane, uninjured. Tho weather weath-er In the fire district was clear today, but there Is no wind and the rangers are chasing down the smouldering lires all over the district. |
