KILLED FOR PROTECTING HORSE OF HIS SLAYER BUTTE, Mont., Aug. 30. A Minor special spe-cial from Wibaux, MonL. stales that Frank Nelson, an employe of a livery stable, was shot and killed by Mux M. Leakey, who ls undor arrest and will bo charged with llrst degree murder. Nelson Nel-son was putting np Leakey's horse, which lie found standing In the street near the stable, and leakcy is said to have become enraged at not. finding his steed, and entering tho stable shot Nelson Nel-son as tho latter wos unsaddling tho horse, Leakey turned his gun upon Deputy Dep-uty Sheriff Wynn when commanded to halt, and the officer emptied his gun at the fugitive, who dropped to tho ground, feigning injury. He was quickly disarmed.
