Show SILVER SERVICE FOR PRESIDENT U1II Presented at Annual Meeting of Loeal Division of Street Railway Employees. The nnnual election of officers of local division No. 3S-', Amalgamated Association Associa-tion of Street and Electric Hallway Employes Em-ployes of America, was held Friday at the hall of tho Whlttlngham block. Tho balloting began at 10 a. m.. continuing until 6 p. m.. during which time a total of 237 votes were cast. James II. Lamont, Frederick XV. Butler, But-ler, John D. McCorty and Allen 11. Burt were unanimously chosen for tho offices of president, first vice-president, second vlco-presldcnt. and secretary and business agent, respectively, no one running in opposition to them. Those elected to the other offices follow: Treasurpr, XV. 13. Taylor; Journal agent, Robert Stlrrat; conductors, G- S. Patterson and A. II. Kempton; wardens, J. C. Neve and James Heed; sentinels. AV. Ij. Shclton and Robert Stlrrat. Tho executive board Is composed of J. D. McCarty. William Cocking, J. A. Rccdcr, A. P. Niclson and William 13. Randall. In thc evening a meeting of the association asso-ciation was held, at which every member who could be was present, and at which the newly elected officers were Installed. In-stalled. An appropriate program of literary lit-erary and musical numbers was rendered and President Lamont was presented with a beautiful silver service, consisting consist-ing of a tea pot. coffee pot, sugar bowl, spoon holder, and cream pitcher. Mr. Lnimont has been elected four terms In succession without opposition and the organization or-ganization presented him with the silver service to show Its appreciation of his services in thc past. Allen II. Burt, secretary, sec-retary, mailo the presentation on behalf of the membership, and Mr. I.nmont accented ac-cented thc gift in a few brief but appropriate appro-priate remarks. The street car men's band was present pres-ent and furnished music. An address on "Why I Am a Union Man," was delivered deliv-ered by Secretary Burt. |
