Lambourno entertained six tables at bridge, and later went in to tea, Friday afternoon at her home, which was elaborately decorated in chrysanthemums, carnations and holly. Tho parlors worn profusolv decorated in Christmas bells, wreaths oC holly and carnations, while the dining-room was effectively decorated in white chrysanthemums, chrysan-themums, with a large vase of them in tho center, of ihe table and crvstal candelabra with red candles and shades at either end. Mrs. Lambourno was assisted by Mrs. W. H. VTevhcr. Mrs. Simon Black. Mrs, VT. IT. Tobies, !.. John 0. Cutler. Jr., Miss Vera Edwards. Ed-wards. Miss Kate Adams and Miss Huby Lnrnbourne. Prizes were won bv Mrs. J. J. Broughall, Mrs. C. M. Benedict, Bene-dict, Mrs. J. C. Daly. Mrs. Y. II. Tobiea, Mrs. J. Rogers and Mrs. T. Pov Brown. Tho'TJniversitv of Utah was' tho scene of .1 largo and brilliant dancing party Fridav evening, when the girls of the universjt- entertained at a leap year dance in the boys' gymnasium, which was profusely decorated in the. school colors, red and white, with banners, pendants and streamers. Tho banquet hall was used as a parlor and dimnp-room dimnp-room and -effectively decornted in reel carnations. Music was furnished bv the university orchestra. Tho patrons for tho evenine comprised the facultv of the university. Many couples thronged the rooms, and it was one of the most successful afTairs of thc season. Tho proceeds will be used for tho benefit of Ihe s'rls' dressing rooms. Mrs. V. H. .Fours entertained thc members of thc Woman's Republican hib at her home Ifridnj' aflernoon, iu honor of Mrs. Margaret Zano Witcher. About thirty enjoyed the afternoon, followed by miib'ie, when delightful vocal number? were given by Mrs. C. G. Plummcr, Mrs. George Vragg and thc Misses Armstrong. Tho rooms were prettily decorated in carnations and chrysauthemums. with pink in tho parlors par-lors and red in the. library and dining-room. dining-room. Bowman and Mrs. I), Moore. , - One of Ihe most brilliant dances given at the high school was the annual red and black dance Friday cveuing by tho senior class. Nearly two hundred couples thronged the Katon gymnasium, which was elaborately decorated in Christmas bells, wreaths of holly aud festoons of evergreen, with streamers of rod and black ribbons. Music was furnished fur-nished bv the Kliuk orchestra stationed at. one corner of the room, behind a bank of palms. Tho chapcronos for tho evening wore Miss Ella Dukos, Miss Mildred Tibbals, Miss Virginia "Bush, Hiss Helen Roxrud, Professor I3alon and Mr. McXiece. Mrs. Wellington T,. Lake entertained eight at a beautifully appointed yellow dinner at " Oobblccrcst." her new home. Wednesday evening,. in honor of Mr. Lake's birthday. The table was handsomely decorated in yellow chrysanthemums, chrysan-themums, with a tall crystal vase of them in the centor. and across the table were bands of broad yellow satin ribbon, rib-bon, with largo bows "at either corner, with looso chrysanthemums and festoons fes-toons of smilax around the table. Mrs. Fostor Cirti? entertained twenty twen-ty at a Kensington at her homo Friday afternoon, in honor of her sister. Mrs. James Shaw of Ogden. Mrs. Curtis was assisted by her cousin. Miss Lemon, of Taooma, Wash., who is spending some time here. Crawford Lindsay will sail from Liverpool Liv-erpool todav for here to spend tho holidays holi-days with his parents, Dr. and Mrs. D. Moore Lindsay. Ho will arrive here December 2 and return to his school at Eaton, England, the last of January. Mrs. J. F. Evans of San Francisco and Mrs. Harry G. Roberts of Denver were guests of honor at a prettily appointed ap-pointed luncheon Friday, civcu by Mrs. A. C. Ewiug. Covurs were laid for twelve. Miss Winifred I?rice, who is attending attend-ing school at Knoxville. Til., will spend the holidavs with a schoolmate in Milwaukee. Mil-waukee. She will bo a guest of honor at an Ice boat party whilo there. Mr. and Mrs. Ilnrrv Schultz will havo as their guests during thc holidavs their sou and his wife. Mr. and Mrs. Cameron Schultz of Park City, and George Schultz of Dawson, T. M. " Mrs. Joseph M. Grics and little daughter, daugh-ter, Roberta Mae. left Wednesday for Dallas. Tex., where they will spend the winter with Mrs. Grics 's parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. T. Rowan. - . Mrs. J. F. Evans will leave todav for her home in San Fraucisco. Christmas will be spent by Mr. and Mrs. Evans with tbeir son and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Evans. Dr. aud Mrs. J. C. Hanchctt and son have pnrchnsed the E. B. O'Meara was guest of honor at a prettily appointed luncheon Wednesday, given by Mrs. Emmctt Moore, when covers were laid for six. Mr. and Mrs. E. F. Kelly left.
